Patna, November 6 : Polling for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections began on Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. across 121 constituencies in 18 districts. Voting will continue until 6 p.m., with more than 3.75 crore voters deciding the fate of 1,314 candidates contesting in this phase.

The districts going to polls today include Gaya, Aurangabad, Nawada, Kaimur, Rohtas, Arwal, Jehanabad, Patna, Bhojpur, Buxar, Nalanda, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Jamui, Munger, Banka, Bhagalpur, and Khagaria.
According to the Election Commission, elaborate security arrangements have been made at all polling stations to ensure smooth and fair voting. Over 65,000 polling booths have been set up, with deployment of adequate police and paramilitary forces to maintain law and order.
Reports suggest that long queues of voters were seen in rural areas early in the morning, while voter turnout in urban centers is expected to rise by the afternoon.
The Election Commission has urged voters to follow all guidelines and exercise their democratic right responsibly.
