New Delhi, November 8: Maruti Suzuki’s premium sedan Ciaz has hit a sales slump, with no units sold in the past three months, prompting the company to announce a ₹40,000 discount to clear remaining stock. The discount applies to all unsold variants of the model, which was officially discontinued in April 2025.

Despite being phased out, some Maruti Suzuki dealerships still have Ciaz units left in stock. According to dealers, the lack of demand is likely because customers have shifted towards newer mid-size sedans and compact SUVs. To move the remaining units, Maruti has rolled out heavy discounts across the lineup.
The Ciaz, once positioned as a luxury mid-size sedan, was priced between ₹9.09 lakh and ₹11.89 lakh (ex-showroom). It competed against models such as the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus.
Engine and Performance
The Ciaz came equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine delivering 103 bhp power and 138 Nm torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The company claimed mileage figures of 20.65 km/l (manual) and 20.04 km/l (automatic).
Design and Color Options
The sedan was offered in three new dual-tone color options:
-
Pearl Metallic Opulent Red with Black Roof
-
Pearl Metallic Grandeur Grey with Black Roof
-
Dignity Brown with Black Roof
Safety Features
The Ciaz featured over 20 safety enhancements, including Hill-Hold Assist and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as standard across all variants. Other key safety equipment included dual airbags, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and ABS with EBD.
While the Ciaz once served as Maruti Suzuki’s flagship sedan, the company’s decision to discontinue it reflects a broader shift in consumer preference towards SUVs. For now, the ₹40,000 discount offers one final opportunity for buyers to own the Ciaz before it permanently exits showrooms.
