Fresh Threats to Family of Slain Lawyer Peetabas Panda; Wife Files Police Complaint

Bhubaneswar, November 8— Nearly a month after the murder of advocate Peetabas Panda, his family has once again come under threat. The late lawyer’s wife has filed a complaint alleging that she and her son have received death threats from unknown individuals.

According to the family, two threatening calls were made from the same mobile number, during which the caller allegedly used abusive language and expressed support for the main accused, former BJD MLA Bikram Panda.

In her complaint, the lawyer’s wife stated that the first call was received by her son, who was threatened with dire consequences if the family pursued the murder case further. Shortly after, the same person allegedly called her and issued a similar threat, warning, “You both will be the next targets.”

Earlier, Peetabas Panda’s younger brother Purnachandra Panda had also reported receiving threat calls on the day of the crime scene reconstruction.

While police officials have not made any official statement on the latest development, they have reportedly assured the family that security measures will be strengthened to ensure their safety.

The murder of Peetabas Panda, which has already sparked widespread outrage in legal and political circles, remains under active investigation.
